A Fifties Banner Brochure

"Snuggled in Connecticut's beautiful rolling hills," is how this cool 1950s brochure introduced Banner Lodge to prospective guests. The pictures illustrating the flyer attest to why Banner Lodge was for years the most popular resort in town. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the illustration.

A nifty 1950s design promised "fun in the sun" at Banner Lodge.  "Contagious informality" and a "gay young active crowd" were just the start. A lovely picture of the den anchors a description of the resort.
Pictures of guests at play illustrate a list of the many sports facilities. These pages promoted the availability of free instruction in archery, tennis, swimming, dancing and horse riding.
The weekly barbeque at the lake was just  one of many activities. Campfires, ping pong and pine-paneled rooms were the norm.
