Springsteen Sings Harry Chapin's Remember When the Music
Bruce Springsteen was among the performers in a 1987 Carnegie Hall concert tribute to the singer-songwriter Harry Chapin. In this clip from the PBS program of that concert, A Tribute to Harry Chapin, Springsteen sings "Remember When the Music" and talks about how Chapin inspired him. "I think that Harry instinctively knew that it was going to take a lot more than just love to survive. That it was going to take a strong sense of purpose, a duty and a good clear eye on the dirty ways of the world." I produced and directed the 1991 program.
